Women 1st, Men 2nd at CAA Meet
In the 4x400m, the team of Dana Harvey, Allie Lewis, Mallory Hogan and Ashley Madonick broke the school record by nearly two seconds, running 3:47.94 for fifth place and berth at the ECAC Championships. Katie Guevel won the heptathlon with 5,158 points, provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Championships and broke her own freshman record and ranks her third all-time at the College. Brenna Blevins took fourth and qualified for the ECAC Championships with a score of 4,565 points in her first heptathlon in nearly two years. Meghan Burns defended her top billing in the 1,500m run, timing a career-best 4:30.42 for the CAA title and an automatic berth at the NCAA Regional and ECAC Championships. Her time also ranks her as the ninth-fastest runner in school history. Freshman Betsy Graney (Harper Woods, Mich.) was sixth in 4:38.77, qualifying for the USAT&F Junior Nationals. In the finals of the 800m run, Lewis won her first conference title in 2:11.01, gaining the automatic entry into the NCAA Regional and ECAC Championships. Sophomore Kelly McElroy was third in 2:14.45 for all-conference honors. Carly Morse won the shot put recording a career-best mark of 45’ 3.75” to claim the title and move to fourth on the all-time top performers list while giving her automatic berths to the NCAA Regional and ECAC Championships. In the men’s 1,500m, senior Ian Fitzgerald ran a personal-best 3:45.74 for runner-up honors which ranks him ninth all-time at the College and qualifies him for both the NCAA Regional and IC4A Championships. Also qualifying for the IC4A Championships were junior Harry Miller who earned all-conference honors in third with a time of 3:48.70, and sophomore Patterson Wilhelm who was fourth in 3:51.54. In the 800m Brian Sklodowski earned his first career All-CAA award, finishing third in 1:54.25. Cam Shriver took second in the high jump after clearing 6’ 6.75.” In the shot put, sophomore Dan Klatzkin took third with a put of 48’ 0.5” to earn his second all-conference award. Doug Zimmer finished fourth in the decathlon with a personal-record 6,222 points, qualifying for the IC4A Championships. Senior Rob Dennis won his first title in 9:17.06, earning an automatic berth to both the NCAA Regional and IC4A Championships. Classmate Bryce Wilk (Millbrook, N.Y.) was next across the line in 9:21.87, and Miller was third in 9:25.22.
