Guevel is CAA Athlete of the Week
It's hard to believe that Katie was a high schooler just last spring (see above from www.emporiagazette.com). She earned her third athlete of the week award after breaking a pair of school records at the Lou Onesty Invitational, both of which were nearly as old as she is. She took third in the 100m hurdles in 14.01, qualifying for the ECAC Championships and surpassing the time of 14.20 seconds set by Lisa Harding in 1990. Guevel also finished third in the 200m dash with an ECAC-qualifying time of 24.90, bettering DeTrease Harrison’s 24.98 run in 1989. Not just a fast runner, Guevel also threw the javelin a personal best 122’ 11”, placing ninth in the event and also ranking ninth all-time on the College’s top performer’s list. More
