Moran, Newberry Set to Run At Worlds
Ok, it's not a total surprise, but if you look below at Moran's interview, there was some question about it on the trials day. The W&M coaches will be members of six person teams and will race in Amman Jordan on March 28th.
Multiple Ic4A/ECAC Qualifiers at VA Tech Invite
Ten men qualified for the IC4A meet led by Patterson Wilhelm, who has provisionally qualified in the NCAA 5K, who ran the 3K in 8:12.39 and Jon Grey in 8:12.98 leading to all time W&M rankings of 9 and 10 for W&M. Colin leak and Ben Massam also qualified. Brian Sklodowski and Jay Bilsborrow went 5th and 6th in the 800 with 1:53.17 and 1:53.38. IC4A qualfiers in the mile were Lewis Woodward and Cabell Rosanelli with times of 4:10.86 and 4:13.04. Ian Fitzgerald, hot off is NCAA miler qualifier, ran 14:33 in the 5K while Cam Shriver cleared 6-9 in the high jump.

Not to be outdone, seven women met the ECAC standard with Emily Anderson cutting several seconds off her time from last week with a 4:43.50 performance in the mile. This is just off the 4:43.33 she ran last year indoors which is the fastest W&M performance under cover and the second fastest period. Rebecca Ward ran 5:00.82 and Heather Beichner was 13th in 5:01.13. In the 3K, Lynn Morelli ran 9:48 and Kayley Byrne finished in 9:56. Pole vaulters Nicole Kazuba and Emily Jeremiah went 5th and 9th in 12'5.5" and 11'.75". Sally Ford ran 18:08 in the 5K.

Fitzgerald Qualifies for NCAA Meet
Ian Fitzgerald ran the 5th fastest mile (indoor and out) in W&M history with his 4:00.01 at Husky Invitational. The time ranks second behind Brian Hyde for W&M all-time indoor performances. Patterson Wilhelm ran 14:05.18 while Emily Anderson ran 4:47.85 both of which provisionally qualified for the NCAA meet. Anderson's time is just 4 seconds off of what she ran in 2008 when she set the indoor school record. More and more
Opps! Vince Brown Invitational
In my trek to last week's XC race, I missed the team results. Cam Shriver notched another win in the high jump in 6-8.25 while Cabel Rosanelli won the mile in 4:16.5. Alex Ball and Adam Gawne went 4-5 in the weight throw while Doug Zimmer and Keith Constance finished 4-5 in the pole vault. Dan Klatzkin was 4th the shot put in 47-.25. More For the women, Kayley Byrne, Heather Beichner and Rebecca Ward went 1-3 in the mile finishing with 5:08, 5:08.25 and 5:12.
