Multiple Victories at Hardy Invitational
Katie Guevel won the 100m hurdles in 14.29, qualifying for the ECAC Championships and breaking the College’s freshman record of 14.95 and now ranks second in school history. Guevel also won the 200m dash in 25.15 seconds, the third-fastest time ever run at the College and took second in the 100m dash in 12.47 seconds which ranks ninth all-time. In the discus Rebecca Mikulas threw a personal best throw of 138’ 7”, finishing second and moving to fifth all-time. Carly Morse finished third with the sixth-greatest throw in school history with a throw of 135’ 6”. In the 400m dash, sophomore Dana Harvey placed fourth by running 57.71 seconds for fourth place as the sixth-best quarter-miler in school history. Ashley Madonick (ran 56.76 in the same race for second place while Emily Anderson ran a personal-best 2:12.52 in the 800m, finishing second and moving up to 10th on the Tribe’s all-time top-performers list. On the men's side David Groff, running unattached won the 800 meters in 1:53. Alex Heacock, the defending CAA Champion, took second in the javelin with a throw of 194’ 10”, easily qualifying for that meet. Dan Klatzkin launched the discus a personal-record 145’ 1” to finish second, with senior Tom Mulcahy close behind in third with a throw of 141’. On the track, sophomore Patterson Wilhelm was just off of IC4A-qualifying pace in the 1,500m run, winning the event in 3:52.79 with Karl Lang second in 3:54.09 as Ben Massam and Charlie Swartz finished fourth and fifth in 3:55.41 and 3:56.69, respectively. Also claiming a top-five showing was the 4x100m relay team of Chris McIntosh, Florian Cords, Marty Ross, and David Blitzer who finished fifth in 45.50 seconds. More
