Will the men's team make it to the NCAA meet for the 12th year in a row? Will the young and very strong women's team make it back after a long absence? Today we start with the new recruits for the men's team to be followed shortly by the women. Also Alex Ball (who is a field events junior) will be providing video interviews this season starting with one with Gibby and Kathy later this week. So here are the new recruits and their accomplishments:
- Alex McGrath: New England Champ at 3200m/NH XC and 3200 ChampHas run 908.6 for 3200m
- Peter Dorrell: Has run 153.10/2:28.59/4:11.62/8:58.30, a nince time State AA Champion
- Zach Gates: 4th at Indiana State Meet in XC and 3200, has run 4:18 and 9:11
- Liam Anastasia-Murphy: State runner-Up at 1000m and 800m, has run 1:54.9/2:30.25/4:21.24
- John Pence: two time All-State at 3200/ Has run 9:17 for 3200m
- David Adley: has run 4:16.63/1:55 on relay/8:50.55 for 3000m, was WPIAL Champ in XC/All-State at 1600m
- Jon Grey (Transfer): from University of Oklahoma, 17th at NCAA MW Regional/32nd at Big 12 Champs/14:44.02 for 5000m
Finally the coaches just selected the MVP award winners for the 2008 track season and they are:
Cam Shriver and Ian Fitzgerald (co-winners) for the men and Emily Anderson for the women.
