Four More Earn All-East Honors
Sophomore Nicole Kazuba (Chantilly, Va.) had been pounding against the 13-foot barrier all spring, and finally broke through Saturday to win the ECAC pole vault title with a height of 13’ 1.5”. Also in the pole vault, freshman Emily Jeremiah (Mechanicsville, Va.) vaulted 12’ 3.5” for fifth place and her first All-East award. The jump also gave her W&M’s freshman outdoor record. Both of the College’s heptathletes persevered through adversity through the last three events to earn All-East honors. Freshman Katie Guevel (Burlington, Kan.) finished sixth with 4,642 points, and senior Brenna Blevins (Pulaski, Va.) finished her career by taking eighth with a score of 4,534 points. More
Senior Ian Fitzgerald (Glenshaw, Pa.) ran comfortably to the top seed in tomorrow’s 1,500m finals, advancing in a time of 3:46.53. He will be joining the 4x800 team that also qualified for the finals. More
