At our reunion last year my classmates were more than amazed that Sonja Friend-Uhl could continue to run as fast as she has as she is only a few years younger than us. But run fast she does and last night at the Vanderbilt Invitation she ran yet another American record, this time in the 1500 meters in 4:16.99. The time provisionally qualifies her for the Olympic Trials. Above is an indoor record of hers earlier this year when she ran a world record of 4:44 in the mile.
