16 Make the Quarter Century CAA XC Team
Of the 25 people who were selected for the first quarter century team for the CAA, 16 came from W&M.
  • Mike Brown – Virginia Beach, Va. -Earned All-CAA honors and was part of championship teams during all four seasons at W&M -Selected as the CAA Rookie of the Year in 1994 -Placed in the top five at four consecutive CAA championships, including third place in 1995.
  • Jacob Frey – Oakton, Va. -Earned All-CAA honors in 2000, 2001 and 2002 after top 10 finishes at the CAA Championship -Honored as a member of the All-Southeast Region squad in 2000 and 2002 -Competed in the 2007 Pan-American Games
  • Sean Graham – Stillwater, Minn. -Two-time All-Southeast Region selection who was the NCAA Regional Athlete of the Year in 2001 -Selected as the CAA Cross Country Athlete of the Year in 2001 -Earned the individual title at the 2001 CAA Cross Country Championship (24:25) More

Brian Hyde – Kentwood, Mich.
-Chosen as the CAA Cross Country Athlete of the Year in 1992 and 1994
-Claimed the individual title at the CAA Cross Country Championship in 1992 (25:12) and 1994 (24:17)
-Four-time All-CAA member who was part of four conference championship teams
Matt Keally – Virginia Beach, Va.
-Earned All-Southeast Region honors during all four seasons (2002-05)
-Captured the individual title at the 2004 CAA Cross Country Championship (25:15)
-Three-time All-CAA honoree who was the CAA Rookie of the Year in 2002
Kevin Krause – Yaphank, N.Y.
-Claimed the individual title at the 1991 CAA Cross Country Championship (24:35)
-Earned All-CAA honors for three consecutive seasons (1989, 1990, 1991)
-Member of W&M’s NCAA Southeast Regional championship team in 1990
Christo Landry – Falls Church, Va.
-Earned NCAA All-America honors in 2004, 2006 and 2007
-CAA Cross Country Athlete of the Year in 2007 after winning the CAA individual title (23:58)
-Three-time member of the All-Southeast Region squad (2004, 2006, 2007)
Matt Lane – Yarmouth, Maine
-Three-time All-American (1997, 1998, 1999) and four-time Academic All-American
-Placed in the top 16 individually at three NCAA Championships, including fifth in 1999
-CAA Cross Country Athlete of the Year in 1997, 1998 and 1999
Ed Moran – Dayton, N.J.
-Earned NCAA All-America honors in 2000 and 2002
-CAA Cross County Athlete of the Year in 2002 and 2003 after winning conference titles
-Three-time All-Southeast Region and All-CAA honoree
Steve Swift – Cromwell, Conn.
-Received All-America accolades in 1991 after finishing 33rd at NCAA Cross Country Championship
-Selected as the CAA Cross County Athlete of the Year in 1991 and 1993
-Three-time All-CAA honoree who won the individual title at the 1993 CAA Championship
Howard Townsend – Yorktown, Va.
-Earned All-CAA honors for four consecutive seasons (1994-97)
-Finished in the top eight at all four CAA Championships, including fourth place in 1997
-Helped lead the Tribe to four straight CAA championships
Paul Vandegrift – Norristown, Pa.
-Honored as an All-American in 1990 after 20th place finish at NCAA Cross Country Championship
-CAA Cross County Athlete of the Year in 1990 after winning conference individual title (25:04)
-Three-time member of the All-CAA squad
