Men 13th, Women 19th at Paul Short Invitiational

The men finished 13th in the seeded men's race at the Paul Short Invitational won easily by Oklahoma.  The men were lead by Josh Hardin in 24:49 and had a spread of 55 seconds from 1 to 5.  More

The women were 19th overall led by Elaina Balouris in 20:59 for the 6K course.  The women had a 61 second spread.  More

W&M Invite


The women held out 4 of their top 5 and the men all of their top seven, yet still the men won their race and the women were still second.  Here is the story on the men and here it is on the women.  Above is Coach Walsh's assessment.

Just before I went on my European vacation a few weeks ago Dan Stimson stepped down as the head of the track team.  Here is the full story with Steve Walsh taking over as interim coach, Dan staying on as the throws coach and two other hires for the distance program. 

Interview with Keith Bechtol

Keith is in his last year of obtaining a Ph.D. in astrophysics from Stanford and considering a post doc from Harvard and M.I.T.  Above is an interview which covers his Ph.D., but mostly his running as he prepares for the US Olympic Trials in the marathon where he has a 2:16 PR.  At W&M, he ran 28:54 in the 10K.
