Moran, Newberry Set to Run At Worlds
Ok, it's not a total surprise, but if you look below at Moran's interview, there was some question about it on the trials day. The W&M coaches will be members of six person teams and will race in Amman Jordan on March 28th.

Multiple Ic4A/ECAC Qualifiers at VA Tech Invite
Ten men qualified for the IC4A meet led by Patterson Wilhelm, who has provisionally qualified in the NCAA 5K, who ran the 3K in 8:12.39 and Jon Grey in 8:12.98 leading to all time W&M rankings of 9 and 10 for W&M. Colin leak and Ben Massam also qualified. Brian Sklodowski and Jay Bilsborrow went 5th and 6th in the 800 with 1:53.17 and 1:53.38. IC4A qualfiers in the mile were Lewis Woodward and Cabell Rosanelli with times of 4:10.86 and 4:13.04. Ian Fitzgerald, hot off is NCAA miler qualifier, ran 14:33 in the 5K while Cam Shriver cleared 6-9 in the high jump.
Not to be outdone, seven women met the ECAC standard with Emily Anderson cutting several seconds off her time from last week with a 4:43.50 performance in the mile. This is just off the 4:43.33 she ran last year indoors which is the fastest W&M performance under cover and the second fastest period. Rebecca Ward ran 5:00.82 and Heather Beichner was 13th in 5:01.13. In the 3K, Lynn Morelli ran 9:48 and Kayley Byrne finished in 9:56. Pole vaulters Nicole Kazuba and Emily Jeremiah went 5th and 9th in 12'5.5" and 11'.75". Sally Ford ran 18:08 in the 5K.

Fitzgerald Qualifies for NCAA Meet
Ian Fitzgerald ran the 5th fastest mile (indoor and out) in W&M history with his 4:00.01 at Husky Invitational. The time ranks second behind Brian Hyde for W&M all-time indoor performances. Patterson Wilhelm ran 14:05.18 while Emily Anderson ran 4:47.85 both of which provisionally qualified for the NCAA meet. In my trek to last week's XC race, I missed the team results. Cam Shriver notched another win in the high jump in 6-8.25 while Cabel Rosanelli won the mile in 4:16.5. Alex Ball and Adam Gawne went 4-5 in the weight throw while Doug Zimmer and Keith Constance finished 4-5 in the pole vault. Dan Klatzkin was 4th the shot put in 47-.25. More For the women, Kayley Byrne, Heather Beichner and Rebecca Ward went 1-3 in the mile finishing with 5:08, 5:08.25 and 5:12. Newberry/Moran Make US Team
Kathy Newberry finished 3rd (top video) and Ed Moran 5th in the men's race. Alex McGrath was 33rd in the men's junior race.
Trials XC Race Today

Videos of the CNU Meet
Coaches Davis and Fritz are back in business with their video work. Soon we will have Anderson's 3K run, but for now, here is Zach Jordan throwing 47'7.75 in the weight, Ashley Williams in the shot put, Dan Klatzkin putting the shot in 46'4.75", Allysa Gaeto long jumping 17'5.5" and Gaeto and Elizabeth Crowley starting the 60 meters. World Cross Country Trials
One of events W&M not listed on the schedule on this site is the USA Cross Country Trials. Since many of us live in or near the DC area, I wanted you to know that Ed Moran (2 pm), Kathy Newberry (1:15 pm) and Alex McGrath (12:30 pm) will be running at the meet on February 7th in Derwood, MD (which is only 25 minutes north of Tysons Corner, VA). Here is information on the meet location.
