Ben Malone Runs #2 All-Time

If memory serves Sam Mattis (son of Marlon Mattis '85) threw the javelin to a #3 all-time US last year as a junior and now Ben Malone (son of John Malone '82) ran a 2:23. 56 tonight in the 1000 meters which is #2 all-time US behind Robby Andrews (now at UVA and a NCAA champ) and ahead of Alan Webb. Go to 4:42 in the video above to see the race.  While we are at it the most successful recent offspring is Mike Morrison, son of Val Roeder Morrison '85, who won the NCAA decathlon last spring.  It is nice to see the next generation doing so well.
